General Council 2020 - Bristol

Booking

Please register individually to ensure that your personal details and preferences are recorded.

The deadline for registration is 22 February. Please note that we cannot accept registrations after this deadline.

It would be appreciated if you could register as early as possible as this really helps the staff team plan for catering and accommodation.

The meeting

The formal business of the meeting will start at 1.30pm on Saturday and finish by 1pm on Sunday. The registration desk will open on Saturday at noon.

We are incredibly grateful to volunteers from the Avon Area who are working with the trustees and staff team to organise the weekend.

A draft meeting programme is now available on our General Council web page where you will also find information and documents for the meeting. This will continue to be updated as we get closer to the meeting.

Fees

Fees for Council members (Area representatives, president, vice-presidents, trustees and motions review committee members) are covered by the Ramblers centrally.

Affiliated national organisation Council members and Area visitors are required to pay a fee of £200, payable when registering, which includes accommodation and all catering including the conference dinner.

Please note that because of capacity constraints, the maximum number of visitor spaces is limited to two per Area and is also subject to an overall cap.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided on Saturday night only. If you wish to arrive earlier or stay later, there are many accommodation options in and around Bristol. If you would like to stay an extra night in the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre, this can be booked online or directly with the hotel. NB The hotel will not have details of individual GC attendees until closer to the meeting.

All bedrooms are ensuite and provided on a single occupancy basis. Twin and double rooms may be available, subject to availability. If you would like to share a twin or double room, you can indicate this on the booking form.

Expenses

Reasonable travel expenses may be claimed by Council members using the form available at the meeting and on the General Council website after the meeting. Area visitors should agree and claim expenses directly from the Area committee.

Contacting you about General Council

General Council updates and paperwork will be sent to you directly as an individual attendee.

Please note:

• We will use the email address you provide during booking to contact you about your attendance at GC2020.
• If you are requesting a hard copy of GC papers to be posted to you, please ensure you include your full "shipping address" including postcode when you book.

NBShipping address is only required if you are requesting hard copies of meeting papers.

This contact information you provide via Eventbrite during registration will be used for GC2020 only and deleted after the meeting.
